If you are a parent like myself, you likely want to encourage your children to play online games that have some form of learning aspect included. It is also likely that as a parent, free online games always take the win.

So, what are some of the best free online learning games?

Many online platforms offer free online learning games that our children can enjoy playing whilst learning. For the younger children, the best place to go is the CBeebies website. On this site, they have a large variety of free online games for young children to play that help them to learn whilst having fun as well as staying safe.

For slightly older children, it can be more challenging to find online games to play that incorporate learning. The best place to go for older children is the CBBC or BBC Bitesize website. This is similar to CBeebies but aimed at older children. With them incorporating the lessons they will be learning at school into fun and free online games.

Most people see gaming as a hobby. Something that is just a waste of time, not giving you any extra life skills. Just something to do to pass the time. But this is not the case. There is so much more to gaming than what people first realise. The gaming world offers many opportunities for careers and lessons alike. Today, we are going to discuss some of these.

Learning Opportunities
Participating in gaming comes with many learning opportunities. It is known that gaming can help with multitasking. Due to being in control of the game whilst looking at the screen. This can help you in later life when you need to complete multiple tasks at the same time.
Gaming can also help with your own mental health. Helping you find ways to calm your mind and be at peace mentally. Some games even have you playing with characters who are mentally unstable, helping you to therefore learn about this whilst playing.

Career Opportunities
Within the gaming industry, there are many opportunities to build careers. Participating in gaming from a young age may inspire these careers.
When you think about gaming, one of the first careers that come to mind is becoming a professional gamer. This is now entirely possible thanks to streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube.
Another career path which you may wish to follow with regards to gaming is the design and creation of the games themself. Allowing you to openly design and make games for others to play. Allowing your own creativity to flow and become games that people would enjoy playing.
Finally, some game development companies do require game testers. This is essentially where you will be paid to play games, looking out for any issues, ensuring the game is perfectly playable before sale.

So, gaming isn’t always a waste of time. There is so much good that can also come out of this simple hobby.

Gaming is a hobby which can become a serious career, with some people making an excellent salary from this career. One of the most important aspects for any gamer is their set up. Today, we are going to share with you some top tips for creating the perfect gaming set up.

Firstly, you need to consider where you will be sitting. Your comfort should be the main priority for this hobby or career. Ensure you purchase a comfortable gaming chair or sofa to sit on when gaming.

You will also need to consider the amount of screentime you will be exposing yourself to Wehn considering your set up, you should ensure your screen is on a darker setting to protect your eyes. You can also use screen covers to make the screen darker if needed.

Finally, consider storage. A gamer set up needs to include ample storage space for all your gaming equipment. This includes games, headphones and controllers.

For many children, all they will be asking for this Christmas is the latest released games. Most of these games do not offer educational purposes. So, what are some games we can purchase with educational purposes to keep us parents happy?

One game which you could consider purchasing your child this year is Brian training. This is an extremely fun game with lots of different challenges. Yet as the name states it is training your brains, making it much more educational than other popular games.

Another choice for you is Minecraft. Every child seems to become obsessed with this game once they begin playing it. Luckily for us parents, it does offer us the educational aspect. With children learning to craft items, the value of items, where food and plants come from along with many more. Coming with a fighting aspect which helps to keep children entertained.

Ask any long-time hardcore gamer and watch them agree; some of the best games were made in the 80s through 90s. From Planescape: Torment to Donkey Kong and Sonic the Hedgehog –these vintage games remain an untouchable classic in the industry’s hall of fame. Unfortunately, fast-growing tech and state of the art gameplay has all but killed the option to play these games in their original form.

New consoles have also disbanded the use of cartridges many years ago; and continue to throw old tech out the window, leaving players forcibly upgrading to other alternatives. However, all is not lost.

Special Retro Game Systems

Behemoth game companies such as SEGA and Nintendo have totally discontinued the use of systems that process cartridges. Plus, since cartridges come with their own set of unique data, it’s pretty impossible to simply plug it into a port of a PC or laptop. However, some companies such as Analogue, Innex and Hyperkin have developed their own cartridge playing consolers that employ software emulation or hardware reading tech. The Analogue Super NT, for example, is a portable piece that allows you to play your favourite SNES wirelessly.

On a budget and can’t afford to purchase a new console, but already have an iPad? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Check out the two suggestions we think will help you have the ultimate gaming machine, other than having good games on there!

Some games are perfect for touch, while others…really work better with a controller. Thankfully, there are a few solid MFI gamepads made for iPhone and iPad that work with a ton of games in the App Store. Have a look around for the best-reviewed ones before purchasing.

You would probably use a gaming headset at your PC, and a nice set of speakers on your TV. So why play games with the small speakers on the edge of your iPhone or iPad? Using a good pair of headphones not only makes your games sound better but can actually help you figure out where sounds are coming from!

As I’m sure many teachers will tell you, gaming has a serious side and it is fast becoming a widely used, popular and interactive way for children to learn in classrooms today.

If we were to go back 40 or even 50 years, playing a game in a school lesson was unheard of. With the introduction of technology and the development of computers, kids are up to speed with the latest gadgets from a very young age. It’s almost scary to see how brilliant kids are at using technology, and this means gaming has come into play in teaching (excuse the pun), but thankfully this has been in a positive way. Making notes straight from a textbook doesn’t work for many children and let’s be fair, it never did! Playing games and getting kids to engage with the teacher and other pupils has brilliant effects, but teachers do of course have to control the fun.

Apparently, Sea of Thieves, which was scheduled to be launched sometime this year, has been shifted to early next year. The game will be available to play on Xbox and Windows PC. Alongside this announcement, Microsoft showed a glimpse of what the gamers should expect. The video gave a step by step action ranging from looting caves, fighting skeleton using pistols to escaping quickly without being noticed.

Teamwork is of the essence in this game. Each player has a specific role to play; one was responsible for carrying a treasure chest gathered underwater while others were responsible for providing security to the group. One character remained on the ship to help with ease escape and at the same ensure no attempt by another ship to steal their loot will succeed. The player can then decide to trade their treasure for money in small portions.

If you are interested in knowing more about what the game has to offer, you can watch its live streams on a mixer.

This upcoming brawler game can be played local or online, so it’s a good option if you’re more of an individual gamer, yet it’s great for the family too. With this title, you can enjoy a number of game modes, battle arenas and characters, whilst you’re also able to choose an ability and prove you’re the one Kirby to rule them all. This game will be out later this year and it’s packed with high-end cartoon visuals, with lots of modern colour and fast action, so it’s a very contemporary handheld game in that sense. With so many vintage style games being released this year, it’s nice to see a new cartoon game with stunning visuals, but this game is not entirely family friendly. It’s a brawler so you have to be quick and react fast to come out on top, but with a little time and practice, you’ll see your skills come to shine through, and we can only hope you become the king of all the characters!

If you’re from the 90s and miss everything about those younger years, don’t worry because Dragon Ball FighterZ is coming to PS4 on New Years Eve. This game is born from what makes the Dragon Ball TV series so loved and famous; spectacular fights with its all-powerful warriors. The game is very easy to learn and get used to, and you’ll be winning fights in no time, but opponents will of course get tougher, and there will be some neat tricks you need to learn to make it through each and every battle that comes your way. At times you will experience aerial combos, destructible stages and famous scenes from the classic 90s show, but more importantly you’ll fall back in love with the characters so many have forgotten, and you’ll relive some of your favourite childhood moments again. This fast paced game is also good for those who have never experienced Dragon Ball Z, so don’t be put off if you know absolutely nothing about it.
